Job Posting: Development Manager

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hampshire County (BBBSHC), a program of CHD, is seeking an energetic fundraising professional with strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Under the direct supervision of the BBBSHC Program Director, the Development Manager is responsible for the generation of fundraising income to meet or exceed budget goals primarily through special events and individual donors.

The Development Manager works within a team model establishing open communication, support and accountability among co-workers. This is a full-time position based in Amherst, MA offering a full benefits package and a salary range of $42,000-$45,000, depending on qualifications and experience.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage all aspects of special events including: individual and corporate participation, recognition, sponsorship solicitation, organizing volunteers, advertising plan, publicity, and record keeping.

  • Stewardship of corporate and small business donors, in particular those who give to special events.

  • Collaborate with BBBSHC Director and Advisory Board on donor development program: cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of individual donors, including annual appeal, and outreach and communication.

  • Oversee donor data entry and database management

  • Attend networking events throughout Hampshire County building relationships and spreading awareness about the program.

  • Collaborate with BBBSHC Director on marketing and communication for the program

  • Manage social media outlets for BBBSHC

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience

  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office and social media applications; knowledge of InDesign a plus

  • Personal vehicle available for employment use

Working Conditions:

  • Flexibility in scheduling, including some required evenings and weekends, based on program needs

  • Physical requirements include lifting and moving items up to 30lbs, walking and driving. This position generally works in a traditional office setting but some local travel is necessary.
