Energy Programs Administrative Assistant


Community Action of Pioneer Valley Energy Programs include Fuel Assistance, Weatherization, and Heating System Repair and Replacement. These programs serve thousands of clients every year throughout Franklin and Hampshire Counties and the North Quabbin Region. The Administrative Assistant is the first point of contact for clients seeking fuel assistance and heating system repair and replacement. The primary responsibilities include answering the main fuel assistance phone lines, scheduling appointments, and making connections to resources.


The ideal candidate will possess excellent listening skills and ability to demonstrate patience and a non-judgmental attitude when dealing with people experiencing crises. They will have sensitivity to cultural and socioeconomic diversity and the needs of individuals with low incomes while understanding poverty and its impact on individuals and families. The Administrative Assistant must be proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Office applications, database programs, calendars, and an ability to quickly learn new software. Knowledge of Franklin, Hampshire & N. Quabbin region agencies and resources, excellent customer service and communication skills, and the ability to process information quickly and accurately are necessary.


Minimum qualifications include: High school diploma or GED and 1 year professional experience, Additional appropriate education may be substituted for experience or additional directly related experience may be substituted for education. Pay Range: $14.31-$15.18/hr; 37.5 hrs/wk
