Cancer Connection Executive Director



The Executive Director in partnership with the Board of Directors, is responsible for the

organization’s success. Together, the Board and Executive Director assure the organization’s relevance to the community, the accomplishment of the organization’s mission and vision, and the accountability of the organization to its diverse constituents.


The Board delegates responsibility for management and day-to-day operations to the

Executive Director, who has the authority to carry out these responsibilities, in accordance with the direction and policies established by the Board. The Executive Director provides direction and enabling to the Board as it conducts its governance functions.

Qualifications:

  •  Passion for and dedication to the mission of Cancer Connection, Inc., and the desire to support individuals with cancer, their families, and their caregivers.

  •  A Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior management position

  •  Exceptional people management skills and experience including delegation and managing workflow.

  •  Experience with fundraising and development, including business sponsorships, event planning, individual donors and major gifts, planned giving, and Grant application and management experience.

  •  Demonstrated ability to develop and manage strategic, operational, and financial plans.

  •  Demonstrates critical competencies in four broad categories: commitment to results, business savvy, leading change, and motivating.

Mission: Cancer Connection is dedicated to encouraging and guiding people living with

cancer and their loved ones along the cancer journey, from diagnosis through treatment and beyond.  Cancer Connection’s purpose is to provide a haven where people with cancer, their loved ones and caregivers can learn to cope with the physical and emotional turmoil that is part of a cancer diagnosis and to explore ways to enhance their strength, their hope, and their care through support groups, integrative therapies, creative activities, and education. All services are offered free of charge.
