New Public Health AmeriCorps Program

Special Funding Opportunity Update from AmeriCorps about this new program:


As you may be aware, President Biden announced in May 2021 a joint effort between AmeriCorps (formerly known as the Corporation for National and Community Service) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to establish this resource.

We are excited to share the release of the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for our new Public Health AmeriCorps program!


Key Information:

  • Applications are due Monday, November 8, 2021 at 5:00pm ET.

  • Successful applicants will be notified in March 2022.

  • Types of organizations that can apply:

    • Nonprofit organizations

    • Institutions of higher education

    • Local Governments

    • States and US Territories

    • Indian Tribes

This new $400 million partnership is funded through the American Rescue Plan and is part of the Biden-Harris Administration’s investment in the public health workforce. Public Health AmeriCorps will support the recruitment, training, and development of a new generation of public health leaders ready to respond to the nation’s public health needs.

The Northeast AmeriCorps Regional office hopes to connect with our current and past partners and listen to what our communities need.
